The City of Boulder CO is located in Boulder County 25 miles northwest of Denver CO. The population of Boulder is about 97,000 people with an elevation of 5,430 feet (over a mile high!) above sea level.
What’s Going on in Boulder?
Here’s what not to miss in Boulder:
The Bolder Boulder is a 10 km run. It takes place on Memorial Day. It began in 1979 and has taken place every year except this year (due to the coronavirus). Everyone is welcome to participate including wheelchair racers, walkers, joggers and runners.
Music is very important in Boulder. The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1958, is a critically acclaimed professional orchestra. The Colorado Music Festival has provided a series of summer concerts in Chautauqua Auditorium since 1976.
Multiple dance companies are located in Boulder. These include the Boulder Ballet and the Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet.
Boulder hosts an annual one-week Conference on World Affairs featuring discussion panels on contemporary issues.
Boulder is home to eTown, an internationally syndicated radio program.
The annual Polar Bear Plunge takes place at the Boulder Reservoir on New Year’s Day.

Additionally, there are a wide variety of private schools in Boulder including private high schools, middle schools and elementary schools.
